Feeding a kitten

Kittens need food made for growth (look for “kitten” or “all life stages” on the label) until about 12 months old.

Under six months, offer 3–4 small meals a day. After that, two or three meals is usually enough.

Keep fresh water out at all times. Skip cow’s milk: most cats don’t digest it well.

Switch foods slowly over 7–10 days, mixing in a bit more of the new food each day, to avoid an upset stomach.
