How deposits work

For now, you pay the deposit directly to the breeder, the way most breeders work today. Protected deposits through KittenKey may come later.

A deposit reserves the kitten for you and is part of the price. Many breeders don’t refund it if you change your mind, so ask about the refund policy before you pay.

1. 1Choose a verified breeder — look for a blue, green or gold paw.
2. 2See the kitten on a live video call before you pay anything.
3. 3Get a written receipt with the kitten’s name, price, deposit and pickup date.
4. 4Pay with a method you can dispute, like a credit card. Never by gift card, wire or crypto.

KittenKey doesn’t handle payments yet and doesn’t arrange delivery. Keep your messages on KittenKey, so we can see what happened if something goes wrong.
