Buying safely: 6 red flags
Kitten scams are common online. Fake sellers post cute photos, take a deposit and disappear. These signs mean slow down.
- 1The seller won’t do a live video call with the kitten.
- 2They want payment by gift card, wire transfer, crypto or a payment app before you meet.
- 3The price is far below what other breeders ask for the same breed.
- 4The same photos appear on other sites under different names.
- 5No vet records, or records without a clinic name.
- 6Pressure: “three other families want her, pay today.”
On KittenKey, every breeder’s paw shows what we checked. Even with a verified breeder, see the kitten on a live video before you send a deposit.
